GENERAL faq's:

What are the entrance requirements?

Entrance requirements are Grade 12 graduation (or equivalent) or at least 19 years of age.

Preferred characteristics -

  • Not allergic to Chemical Processes.
  • Good eyesight and normal color vision.
  • Reasonable comprehension of English Language, both Spoken and Written.
  • Punctual and able to communicate effectively

Roggendorf School offers industry recognized programs in Hairdressing and Nail Technology.  The school is Accredited with PCTIA and Designated by BCSAP.

HAIRDRESSING COURSE faq's:

How will this course prepare me for employment?

This course offers training in a wide range of skills appropriate to today’s High Fashion Hair service Industry.  Current “High Tech” equipment and techniques are featured and graduates receive a salon respected Diploma.


Which skills will I learn?

This course consists of 1500 hours of theory study and practical applications.  It is divided into four main categories based on skill level

The course is designed around the world renowned ‘Pivot Point’ methodology and uses the ‘pivot point’ DVD and textbooks.

The main categories are as follows:

Level 1 & 2

Draping ; Shampoo; Basic Set; Comb out; Blow Dry; Basic Perm wrap; 4 type hair cutting form (Solid, Graduated, Increased layer and Uniform.); Curling Iron; Treatment.

Level 3 (Intermediate)

Clipper and combination cutting form; Advance perm wrap; Coloring; Foils; Define people temperament type True Colors: Salon management; Receptionist; Skip wave; finger wave and Up Do.

Level 4

Advanced Coloring; Fashion perm wrap; Advance Hi-Li design and Up Do design and Color Correction;

Job Strategies (Facilitated Resume, Marketing and Interview skill)


How will I be graded?

Students will be graded on both theory and practical knowledge.  An evaluation of the learning process includes practical projects, theory exams and occasional quizzes.

Final assessment is by theory exam and a timed practical.

All graduates will receive a course transcript and an institute Diploma.


When are classes scheduled?      When can I start?

New classes start monthly.

The day course is scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 AM—5:00 PM

Evening courses will be available in September 2005, call 604 584 5630 for details.

Expected class times will be 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Tuesday to Friday and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Saturday


How much will it cost?

The costs for the Hairdressing program are:

Registration fee $100.00 (non refundable)
Tuition fee $5,500.00
Equipment and Kit $600.00
Text books $110.00
Total = $6,310.00

NAIL COURSE faq's

How will this course prepare me for employment?

This course offers training in a wide range of skills appropriate to today’s rapidly expanding and trendy Nail Technology Industry.  Current “High Tech” equipment and techniques are featured and graduates receive a salon respected Certificate.


Which skills will I learn?

This course consists of 400 hours of theory study and practical applications.  It is divided into four practical categories and nineteen theory modules.  The course is designed around the world renowned Milady’s methodology.

A sample of the techniques that a student will learn are:

  • Introduction to equipment, implements and materials used in the industry.

  • French and water manicures and Nail Repair for both men and women

  • Nail tip application and removal.

  • Airbrush art design and French manicure

  • Acrylic apply system

  • Gel apply, fill and removal systems

  • Nail art, both flat and 3 dimensional techniques

  • Hand and arm massage techniques.


How will I be graded?

Students will be graded on both theory and practical knowledge.  An evaluation of the learning process includes practical projects, theory exams and occasional quizzes.

Final assessment is by theory exam and a timed practical.

All graduates will receive a course transcript and an institute Certificate


When are classes scheduled?         When can I start?

New classes start every 1st and 15th of each month.

The day course is scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 AM—4:30 PM

Evening courses will be available in the future

Tuition fee $2,000.00
Equipment and Kit $400.00
Text books $110.00
